At Elara Maison, quality is never cosmetic. It is structural. Safety is treated the same way — as a standard designed into every decision, from sourcing to delivery.

This page explains how we approach product integrity, material responsibility, and safety-related guidance across our collections.

1. Our Safety & Quality Standard

We curate furniture, lighting, and décor from selected manufacturers and brands. Where safety requirements apply, we request and review relevant compliance documentation, and we work with partners who follow established industry practices for quality control, traceability, and responsible production.

Because many of our products use natural materials and artisanal finishes, variations in grain, tone, texture, or patina may occur. These are considered characteristics of craftsmanship rather than defects.

2. Materials & Indoor Use

We prioritize materials and finishes suitable for interior use and aligned with applicable safety expectations for consumer products.

Depending on the product category and destination, this may include supplier confirmations and documentation relating to:

  • material composition and safe indoor use,
  • chemical safety requirements (including EU REACH, where applicable),
  • care instructions designed to preserve long-term integrity.

If you have specific sensitivities or requirements (e.g., for children’s rooms or hospitality projects), our team can advise on materials and recommended use before you purchase.

3. Furniture Stability, Load, and Intended Use

Furniture is designed to be used as intended and installed according to provided instructions. For safety and durability:

  • follow assembly instructions precisely,

  • place furniture on stable, level surfaces,
  • for tall or heavy pieces, wall anchoring may be recommended for stability (especially in homes with children).

Lighting products offered by Elara Maison are sourced from manufacturers who comply with applicable electrical safety requirements for the markets where the product is offered (for example, CE/UKCA markings where required).

For safety, we recommend that electrical installation is carried out by a qualified professional and that fixtures are used in accordance with the product documentation (including wattage limits, bulb type, and placement requirements).

5. Care, Maintenance & Natural Variation

To protect product integrity over time, please follow the care guidance provided on the product page and/or included documentation.

Please note:

  • natural wood grain, tone variation, and texture are inherent to natural materials,
  • fabric tone may appear different depending on lighting conditions,
  • certain finishes develop a natural patina over time, which is part of their character.

Damage caused by improper use, unsuitable cleaning agents, moisture exposure, heat, or incorrect assembly is not considered a manufacturing defect.
